Get answers about age requirements, Florida boating licenses, arrival time, clothing, weather, cancellations, fuel, safety, and Salty's booking policies.
Do I need a Florida boating license?
Many operators born on or after January 1, 1988 need proof of boating-safety education. Salty's can explain the current requirement during booking and offers a quick temporary-certificate option at check-in when applicable.
How early should I arrive?
Arrive about 30 minutes before the reservation for check-in, paperwork, equipment fitting, licensing when needed, and the safety briefing.
What should I wear?
Wear swimwear or quick-dry clothing. Closed-back water shoes or Crocs are required for jet ski activities. Bring sun protection, water, and a waterproof phone case.
Are life jackets provided?
Yes. Properly sized personal flotation devices and a safety briefing are provided for Salty's operated rentals and tours.
What happens if the weather is unsafe?
Salty's operates weather permitting. When the team determines conditions are unsafe, affected guests are contacted and assisted with the appropriate rescheduling or policy option.
Can beginners rent a jet ski or boat?
Yes. Many guests are first-time riders or boaters. Staff provides operating guidance and local navigation information before departure.
Which location should I choose?
Fort Pierce is ideal for inlet clarity and a broad activity selection. Jensen Beach and Port St. Lucie are convenient for Martin and St. Lucie County stays, while Sebastian serves the northern Treasure Coast.
